This past weekend, Kyle kept the kids and I got to go to North Carolina to visit some long-time friends. There are actually four of us, but Anne couldn't make it this year. I guess she's too busy being a newlywed!!! Really, she wanted to come but wasn't able to because of work. We hung out in Mt. Airy, NC (the actual Mayberry from the Andy Griffith Show) and basically did nothing but talk (and, oh yeah, sleep in).
Jo (the one on the right) and I counted up and realized we've been friends for 22 years, since I moved to Tyler in 6th grade. We used to talk about how we'd be old ladies in a nursing home together. We're not quite there yet, but we've watched each other grow up, get married, and have children. She's been through all the boys, could tell you some silly stories about me, and has encouraged me all along the way. It was fun to be with the girls this weekend because it rejuvenated me to come back to my life and be the best mom and wife I can be!! Thanks girls!!
