Like I mentioned previously, one of the major "treatments" we put into place for Will was to place him in Head Start right after he turned 4. With Head Start, he was around typical children in a structured school setting everyday from 8-3:30. Head Start prepares children for kindergarten, with more of a focus on social development than academic development, although they do that too.
Head Start was a huge catalyst for growth in Will's life. He had a phenomenal teacher and assistant teacher who loved him so well. As he was around typical kids, things like having to hold toys in his hands slowly diminished. For more specifics about what he learned in Head Start, please read this letter I wrote at the end of the year. In addition, please enjoy these pictures of Will with his Head Start friends.
