The Most Important Thing

You're about to do something:
Plant a church
Accept a new ministry role
Enter seminary
Leave seminary
Lead a group of people
Write something or someone
Host an event
Speak
Leave for the mission field
Go to church
Counsel a teenager
Enter the second half of ministry life
Share the gospel
Meet a need
Say yes to a man who said yes to God
Take responsibility
Lead a charge
Teach children
In every something, there is one most important thing, and it is this:

Though I speak with the tongues of men and angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing. 1 Corinthians 13:1-3

For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." Galatians 5:14

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 1 John 4:7

No matter what your something is today, love is the most important thing.

Thank you for this important reminder. I need to stamp it in my mind, so I don't forget when I so need to remember.

I have always wanted to leave a comment on your posts. I am not a ministry wife ... just a wife and mum. I am ALWAYS challenged by your posts. They have challenged me in numerous ways, not the least of which is how to practically love and pray for our Pastor‘s wife. God bless you in this wonderful ministry.
